The branches
Army ROTC, Navy ROTC (covers both Navy and Marine Corps option), and Air Force ROTC (which now includes Space Force). Each has its own application portal and selection process.
What's covered
Full tuition and fees, an annual book stipend (~$1,200), and a monthly stipend that grows each year from ~$300 to $500. Some scholarships also cover room and board.
Service commitment
Typically 4 years active duty plus 4 years reserve service after commissioning. Specific terms vary by branch and specialty.
How to apply
Most high school applicants apply through the branch-specific portal between June (start of senior year) and January of senior year. Three- and two-year scholarships are available for current college students.
The interview and PFT
Finalists complete an interview with a senior officer and a Physical Fitness Test. Start training months in advance — physical readiness is non-negotiable.
