Italian Agency for Development Cooperation — Agroforestry Value Chains in Uganda
About
What an incredible opportunity to drive environmental and economic transformation in East Africa! The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) has launched the 'Trees 4 Karamoja' initiative, a visionary project designed to combat land degradation and foster sustainable livelihoods in Uganda. This 36-month grant is specifically tailored for organizations passionate about regenerative agroforestry and social equity. By focusing on the restoration of forest and tree cover, this program aims to breathe new life into the landscapes of Moroto, Napak, Nakapiripirit, Nabilatuk, and Amudat.
This is more than just an environmental project; it is a lifeline for local communities. The initiative prioritizes the development of value chains that empower the most vulnerable, specifically women and youth, ensuring that ecological health goes hand-in-hand with financial independence. As the lead applicant, you will have the chance to spearhead a fully-funded €1.78 million project that bridges the gap between Italian expertise and Ugandan grassroots resilience. If your organization is dedicated to sustainable development and climate action, this is your chance to make a lasting legacy in the Karamoja region!
