Ran and Ginny Fiennes Award
About
The Ran and Ginny Fiennes Award is a prestigious grant established to honor the indomitable spirit of Sir Ranulph and Lady Virginia Fiennes. Administered by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), this award is designed for explorers who dare to push the boundaries of human endurance and knowledge. It specifically targets expeditions that embody the Transglobe Expedition’s tradition of challenge and perseverance, favoring projects that tackle difficult environments or complex humanitarian issues.
Whether you are planning a scientific breakthrough in a remote corner of the globe, a humanitarian mission to underserved communities, or an educational journey that redefines our understanding of the world, this award provides the catalyst needed to turn ambitious plans into reality. It is more than just a financial grant; it is a call to action for those who possess the "grit" required to navigate the unknown. The selection committee looks for projects that demonstrate not only technical feasibility but also a profound potential for positive impact and the ability to inspire future generations of adventurers and researchers.
